Sarah Salerno

Sarah completed her Master of Science in Psychotherapy at McMaster University. Sarah’s training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) has focused on mood, anxiety, and related difficulties in adult populations. Sarah’s clinical work has included outpatient care in public health settings with issues, including anxiety, mood, and other life challenges. She’s acquired training at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton’s Mood Disorders Clinic, where she was trained in CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Behavioural Activation (BA), as well as self-compassion and emotion regulation skills.

Sarah is passionate about working with and supporting individuals of all ages struggling with various personal challenges and life transitions. She has a compassionate, warm, and collaborative approach to psychotherapy and practices with a stance of empathy, acceptance, and non-judgment. Sarah is deeply honoured to work those that seek her support and entrust her with their thoughts and feelings. She strives to cultivate a safe and supportive space for individuals to explore and enhance their well-being.

Sarah engages in supervised practice and is dedicated to ongoing training to strengthen her competencies in evidence-based psychotherapies and clinical skills. Sarah has focused training in CBT, and draws from other modalities such as ACT, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) in her practice.
